During the earlier "State of Azeroth" livestream, Blizzard Entertainment, through Executive Producer Holly Longdale and Game Director Ion Hazzikostas, officially revealed the release date for World of Warcraft's next expansion, *Darkest Night*, confirming a simultaneous global launch on March 2nd. In addition, the "Player Housing" system, which players have been clamoring for for 20 years, will also be officially and fully released with the expansion.
This live stream was packed with information, ranging from a modern version's roadmap for future updates to a classic version's nostalgic progression. Here are the key points:
Darkest Night 3/2 arrives, housing systems are no longer just a dream.
After testing in Early Access, official data shows that players have spent over 400 million hours and placed 1400 million decorative items in the housing system. With the official release of the Darkest Night expansion, the housing system will also receive a full update.
According to Ion Hazzikostas, future housing systems will include the following features:
• Pets and mounts showcase:Your battle pets are no longer confined to cages; now you can let them roam freely indoors, or even "tether" your most prized mount to the courtyard for display.
• More intuitive editing tools:New "Select and Move" and "Copy and Paste" features have been added. Want to move your carefully stacked pianos a little to the side? No need to remove the covers, just drag and drop.
• Code sharing (Import/Export):Through code, players can import master designs or share their own masterpieces, just as easily as in The Sims.
• Increased decoration budget:The maximum number of items that can be placed indoors and outdoors will increase as the house level increases.
Route map revealed: Hide-and-seek mode, large maze
Regarding the update plan after the release of Darkest Night, Blizzard also announced the following follow-up content:
• Pre-event event "Twilight Ascension":From now until March 2nd, players can participate in the fight against the Void invasion.
• Patch 12.0.5 "Hide and Seek":The official team will add a new disguise game mode inspired by "Prop Hunt", where players can transform into environmental objects (such as barrels and chairs) in Silvermoon City or Stormwind City to engage in hide-and-seek battles.
• Patch 12.1.5 "Labyrinths":This is a completely new gameplay mode, considered an advanced version of "Delves". The dungeons will be large, complex single-player or small-team instances, similar to the concept of "Mega Dungeons", but retaining the flexibility of Delves, allowing players to complete them all at once or in segments.
Classic Edition: Return to Pandaria and The Burning Crusade
Regarding Classic WoW, World of Warcraft Classic will continue to advance the wheels of history:
• The Mysteries of Pandaria (Classic Edition):The story will advance to the "Escalation" update, and the final raid, "Siege of Orgrimmar," is expected to be released later this year.
• Anniversary Realms:These "starting from scratch" servers are about to advance to the Burning Crusade phase, and Illidan is ready to tell players again, "You're not ready yet."
• China Special Edition:For Chinese players, a new season server called "Titan Reforged" has been launched.
