Firstweb Limited, the parent company of the price comparison shopping platform "Feibi Price," officially announced today (February 4th) that it has completed the integration of its services with the food-sharing platform Tasteme. The first major development after the integration is Feibi's version of "food-sharing service," which is expected to launch in April this year. This service will transform near-expiry food into a green business opportunity through a "food-sharing lucky bag" model.
Food Saving Gift Bag: Turning "Leftovers" into "Feasts"
According to a report by the United Nations Environment Programme, nearly 30% of the world's food is wasted each year before it is consumed, and the carbon emissions generated by this waste account for 8%-10% of the global total.
Lu Dawei, chairman of First.com, pointed out that the core objective of this acquisition is to make food products that are nearing their expiration date but are still of good quality visible through the integration of technology and resources. Through the "Food Saving Lucky Bag" mechanism, consumers can purchase meals at a relatively low price, while restaurants can reduce waste costs, achieving a win-win situation.
Furthermore, Feibi has demonstrated even greater ambition, planning to collaborate with industry, government, and academia to develop a Taiwanese version of the "Indicators and Inspection Guidelines for Reducing Food Waste." This means that future food conservation efforts will no longer be just slogans, but will establish scientific baselines for waste reduction, allowing every purchase to be quantified into concrete environmental benefits.
Tasteme users' rights will remain unchanged, and a seamless transfer will be completed by the end of April.
Regarding the rights and interests that were of utmost concern to the original Tasteme users, First Website stated that it had completed the settlement in the fourth quarter of 2025 and would "fully assume" the rights and obligations of the original Tasteme users (including merchants and consumers).
• Account and Points:The original user's account information, stored T-coins, and T-points will be fully retained and will not be lost.
• Integration timeline:The overall service merger is expected to be completed by the end of April this year.
The official announcement also specifically reminds users that during the service integration period, Feibi and Tasteme will never proactively ask users for passwords, personal information, or request money transfers. If you receive a suspicious call, please be sure to call the 165 anti-fraud hotline to verify.
