The new device features a modular design, with internal components that are self-replaceable and require no adhesive. It has 12 replaceable components, including a 4415mAh battery with 30W wired fast charging, which charges to 25% in about 50 minutes, resulting in a battery life of approximately two days. The screen has been upgraded to a 6.31-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the overall design is lighter and more compact than the previous generation.
In addition to the replaceable internal modules, the Fairphone 6's back cover is also customizable, allowing it to be paired with modular accessories such as card holders, rings, or lanyards, further enhancing its personalization and practicality. It has an IP55 water and dust resistance rating, providing basic protection against water splashes, but submersion in water is not recommended.
The Fairphone 6 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor and 256GB of storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. The main camera features a 5000-megapixel wide-angle lens paired with a 1300-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a slightly smaller setup than the Fairphone 5's main camera, which consisted of three 5000-megapixel lenses. The video camera is a 3200-megapixel unit.
The operating system is pre-installed with Android 15, and the official promise is that security updates and technical support will continue to be provided until 2033, and it comes with a 5-year warranty. The new version also introduces the "Fairphone Moments" mode, which can be switched with a single click via the green button on the side, displaying up to five designated applications, allowing users to enter a more focused mobile operating experience.
Fairphone 6 will be available in the European market from now on with a suggested retail price of 599 euros (approximately NT$23000) and will be available in three colors: Cloud White, Forest Green, and Horizon Black.
