F5, a leading provider of application layer services and application delivery networks, officially launched its new Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP) to the Taiwanese market today (September 9) at Solution Day Taiwan 4 in Taipei. The company touted this as the industry's first solution to integrate high-performance load balancing, traffic management, and advanced application and API security capabilities in a single platform. This marks F2025's entry into the ADC 5 (Application Delivery Controller 3.0) era, designed specifically to meet the demanding requirements of AI-driven applications.
F5 notes that enterprise application delivery has evolved from ADC 1.0 in the internet era to ADC 2.0, which scales to the cloud, and now to ADC 3.0, which is centered around AI applications. With the rapid advancement of AI technology, Taiwanese companies have fully integrated AI into smart manufacturing, digital finance, and next-generation connected services.
However, this development also brings challenges in cross-cloud traffic management, real-time data processing, and more complex security threats. F5 describes this as the "fireball challenge" of application infrastructure in the AI era, and the launch of ADSP is the solution to this problem.
F5 Taiwan General Manager Lin Zhifang stated that AI is more than just a technological upgrade; it represents a profound transformation encompassing operations, strategy, and architecture. Against the backdrop of strengthened regulations in Taiwan, such as the Information and Communications Security Management Act 2.0 and the financial industry's Zero Trust architecture requirements, F5's ADSP not only meets cybersecurity compliance standards but also helps enterprises deploy and maintain AI-driven applications with greater efficiency and lower costs, accelerating digital transformation.
ADSP's core advantages include:
• Complete delivery capabilities:A single platform covers load balancing, traffic management, web and API security, simplifying IT operations.
• All-round safety protection:Integrate API protection, bot management, and application security to provide consistent protection regardless of deployment on-premises, in the cloud, or at the edge.
• Flexible deployment:Supports on-premises, virtualized, and cloud-native SaaS (Software as a Service) to meet hybrid multi-cloud needs.
• AI-driven maintenance:Through full lifecycle automation, maintenance costs are reduced, allowing teams to focus on innovation.
F5 also announced several innovative features:
• F5 AI Gateway:Integrate applications, APIs, and large-scale language model interactions, optimize performance and security through containerized architecture, and help enterprises implement AI faster.
• AI assistant for BIG-IP:Enhance the automation and intelligence of iRules to reduce the complexity of traffic management and security maintenance.
• VELOS CX1610 chassis and BX520 card:It meets the requirements of high-performance AI and 5G FWA data processing and supports the highest NEBS standards.
Lin Zhifang emphasized that F5 has been deeply rooted in Taiwan for over 20 years, navigating every stage of digital transformation alongside the industry. As AI applications become increasingly core to enterprise operations, ADSP not only helps Taiwanese companies address increasingly complex security and delivery challenges, but also lays a foundation for a more resilient and observable infrastructure in key areas such as smart factories and digital finance.
