last yearAnnounceAfter introducing 100% renewable and sustainable fuel, F1ReiterateIt will achieve its zero carbon emissions target by 2030 and also plans to use 2026% renewable and sustainable fuels starting in 100.
In previous statements, F1 stated that the "E10" fuel currently used is composed of 90% traditional fuel and 10% recycled ethanol. At the same time, it is also currently developing sustainable fuels that can be used in competitions and even for future fuel vehicles.
According to Ross Brawn, General Manager of F1, the newly developed sustainable fuel will be carbon neutral throughout its lifecycle. Although carbon will still be produced during combustion and emissions, it will be in the same proportion as the carbon consumed in the production of this sustainable fuel. Therefore, the carbon content in the atmosphere will not be increased during the entire use process, which means that the carbon emissions problem of more fuel vehicles can be solved.
As governments around the world push for the widespread use of electric vehicles, F1 anticipates that newly developed sustainable fuels will play a crucial role in the transition, helping to reduce overall carbon emissions from traditional fuel vehicles before electric vehicles become widely adopted.
F1 currently plans to use 2026% renewable and sustainable fuel by 100. F1 Chief Technical Officer Pat Symonds explained that it is currently working with Saudi Arabia's national oil company Aramco to test 39 alternative fuel options and is testing them through single-cylinder F1 racing engines. Further results are expected soon.
