The F1 event unit under the FIA (International Automobile Federation) announced earlier that it will cooperate with Codemasters' "F1 2017" game and is expected to hold a large-scale e-sports event starting in September.
"F1 2017" is expected to be released globally on August 8th, and will be available on PlayStation 25, Xbox One and Windows PC platforms. However, the FIA and Codemasters have not yet announced the platform versions expected to be used for the event, nor have they announced details such as the designated controller for the event.
This is not the first time that the FIA has collaborated with gaming content. Gran Turismo: Competizione, which is expected to be launched on October 10 this year, will work with the FIA.Licensure Examination Certification, allowing players to obtain an FIA-certified professional driver's license through in-game exams. However, although players can obtain an FIA-certified license through in-game exams, whether it can be recognized in actual use still depends on the approval of the various racing organizations.
