Compared to the Pixelbook launched in 2017, the Pixelbook Go announced this time is relatively streamlined and the price is much more affordable.
Unlike the Pixelbook's 90-degree corners and 2-in-1 design, the Pixelbook Go adopts a traditional laptop shape with rounded corners. Although its thickness of 1.3 cm is relatively obvious, it weighs around 0.91 kg. The wavy design on the bottom of the body makes it more convenient for users to carry.
The body material emphasizes the use of recycled metal, but the overall texture does not make people feel that it is a recycled metal product. The Hush Keys keyboard design, which emphasizes extreme silence, brings a lighter and quieter typing experience, and the bottom touchpad area is also slightly larger, making it easier for users to operate.
The overall appearance is actually a bit similar to the configuration of a MacBook, but the Pixelbook Go's 13.3-inch screen supports touch, and the resolution is available in 1080P or 4K. At the same time, the screen cover can be easily opened with one hand without having to use two hands to open it.
The laptop itself connects to a power source via USB-C for charging, and can also be used directly through the USB-C port for an external monitor. Paired with an external mouse and keyboard, the Pixelbook Go can be used as a desktop. The operating system is Chrome OS, which is emphasized to be updated periodically.
In terms of battery life, the Pixelbook Go can last up to 12 hours of continuous use, and it supports fast charging via USB-C, which can charge enough power for about 20 minutes of use in 20 minutes.
The hardware specifications include Intel Core m3, Core i5 and Core i7 processor specifications, 8GB or 16GB of memory, and 64GB, 128GB or 256GB SSD storage components. The colors are pure black and not too pink. The pure black model will be available for pre-order first, and the suggested retail price starts at US$649.
However, like other products, Google is not yet ready to bring Pixelbook Go to the Taiwanese market.
