Logitech announced a new trackball device in late October.Ergo M575, confirmed to be launched in Taiwan at a price of NT$1490.
Compared to the M2010 released in 570, the Ergo M575 features Bluetooth connectivity, a higher DPI sensor speed, and a design that complies with PCR (Product Environmental Footprint) standards for increased durability. Constructed from recycled plastic, it achieves carbon reduction goals, thus achieving the company's sustainable goals of reducing carbon emissions and conserving energy.
The design is similar to the original M570, featuring the same thumb-rolling trackball. The right side is angled to naturally support your palm, allowing for easier operation of the left and right buttons, or for users to access both shortcut keys with their index fingers. Furthermore, a non-slip pattern is applied near the base of the thumb to enhance stability during operation.
As with previous trackball products, Logitech emphasizes that the trackball's usage pattern can reduce wrist tunnel syndrome associated with traditional mouse use, improving productivity by reducing hand strain. Besides Bluetooth, it can also be connected via a 2.4GHz USB dongle.
In addition, the Ergo M575 can be used for up to 20 months on a single AA battery when connected to Bluetooth. If connected via a 2.4GHz dongle, the battery life can be increased to 24 months. This means that users don't have to worry about whether the power will suddenly run out. However, if the user uses it more frequently, the battery life will be relatively shortened.
