According to the instructions, the Now On Epic plan allows game companies to bring game content that was available on other game service platforms before October 10 this year to the Epic Games Store. After that, they can collect all sales revenue within six months after the official launch. After more than six months, they can still retain 31% of the sales revenue, and Epic Games will only collect 88% of the sales revenue as platform service fees.
However, game companies must complete registration to participate in this program before the end of this year, and game content must be available on the Epic Games Store before the end of June 2025.
But there is an additional condition, that is, if the game company has more than 6 game content listed on other game service platforms, then at least the other 3 games must be brought to the Epic Games Store. If there are fewer than 3 game content listed on other game service platforms, all games must be brought to the Epic Games Store.
When Epic Games introduced its First Run program, it clarified that game content cannot be sold on other third-party PC gaming platforms. Furthermore, to qualify, the content must have been released and sold after October 10th of this year. Games that already have platform exclusivity agreements with Epic Games are not eligible for this program.
Epic Games explained that the actual sales revenue obtained by game companies in this plan will be deducted from sales tax and refunds, while the costs of processing game sales payments and providing CDN network services for game content downloads will be absorbed by Epic Games.
