In courtOrder to enforce the banAfter Apple began adjusting the App Store usage guidelines in the United States and allowing external links to third-party payment consumption, Epic Games immediately announced a new usage policy for its service platform, which included that games listed on the Epic Games Store with annual revenue of less than US$100 million (approximately NT$3000 million) will not have to pay any platform commission fees. It even once again claimed that software market services listed on its Epic Games Store do not require additional commission fees like on Apple or Google service platforms.
Prior to this, Epic Games had stated that it would help developers shareFirst-year iOS platform core technology fees, thereby attracting more content to its software market service.
The new policy announced this time will be implemented from June this year. If the annual revenue on the Epic Games Store does not reach US$6, there will be no need to pay commission fees to Epic Games. Unless the overall revenue exceeds US$100 million, a 100% revenue share will be required to be paid to Epic Games.
In addition, developers can also list software on the Epic Games Store or add paid digital content items within the game, without having to charge a certain percentage of commission fees as companies such as Apple and Google do on the grounds of platform services. Developers can also attract players to pay for online content through various connection methods, allowing players to consume at more reasonable prices.
