Recent continuous research on OpenAICriticism, accusing it of not developing artificial intelligence technology in an open source form as promised when it was originally established, and turning it into a profit-oriented company. Elon Musk earlier said that he would join forces with many investors and plan to acquire all of OpenAI's assets for US$974 billion.
The Wall Street Journal reportedElon Musk is collaborating with well-known venture capital firms such as Valor Equity Partners, Baron Capital, Atreides Management, Vy Capital, and 8VC. Ari Emanuel, CEO of Endeavor Group Holdings, which represents numerous films, television series, musicals, stage plays, digital media, and publishing content, also participated through his personal investment fund and submitted the acquisition offer to the OpenAI board of directors on February 2.
Marc Toberoff, the attorney appointed to handle the acquisition, stated that if OpenAI CEO Sam Altman insists on transitioning OpenAI to a fully for-profit organization, he must provide fair compensation to the nonprofit. Elon Musk, however, stated that his artificial intelligence company, xAI, is based on OpenAI's original values. He also emphasized that his Grok artificial intelligence technology is fully open source and that he respects the rights of all content created using it.
However, Sam Altman declined the offer on the "X" platform and expressed his intention to acquire Twitter (the predecessor of the "X" platform) for US$97.4 billion.
OpenAI recently announced the establishment of a joint venture with Softbank, Oracle, and the White HouseThe "Stargate" artificial intelligence data center project, will inject additional funds into MGX, an artificial intelligence investment company in the United Arab Emirates, and plans to build OpenAI's new artificial intelligence infrastructure with a budget of US$4 trillion over the next four years.
Softbank later reportedly invested in OpenAIAdditional investment of $250 billion, making Softbank the largest investor in OpenAI. In addition, Softbank and OpenAI have established a joint venture company "SB OpenAI Japan" and launched aCristal IntelligenceBusiness artificial intelligence integration services.
