Elon Musk earlier confirmed that Tesla's first robotaxi will be unveiled on August 8 this year.
Earlier, Reuters reported that Tesla had abandoned its original plan to produceLow-priced electric vehicle products, and focus its resources on robotaxis built in the form of small cars.
Elon Musk later responded to the Reuters report, claiming it was inaccurate and confirming the news that Tesla would launch a robotaxi product. However, Musk did not elaborate on the details of the Reuters report's inaccuracy, seemingly suggesting that Tesla still plans to launch the rumored low-cost electric vehicle.
Prior to this, Tesla has always stated that it will launch a more affordable electric car, which will be priced lower than the current Model 3's price of $39000. It is expected to start at $25000 and may enter the market as early as the second half of 2025.
As for the launch of robotaxis, it means that Tesla will enter the autonomous transportation application market and may cooperate with transportation service providers such as Uber and Lyft. It may even combine with smart city applications to increase development opportunities.
