E Ink Holdings, a global leader in electronic paper technology, announced that the world's first color-changing electronic paper electric guitar, "DaVinci," developed in collaboration with renowned electric guitar brand Cream Guitars, is now officially open for pre-orders worldwide. This is also the first consumer product to be mass-produced using E Ink Prism 3 technology.
The piano body itself becomes a canvas; E Ink Prism 3 enables dynamic color changes.
The most distinctive feature of this electric guitar, named "Da Vinci," is the integration of E Ink Prism 3 color-changing electronic paper into the guitar body. Through the programmable nature of the electronic paper, users can freely change the dynamic colors and patterns of the guitar body according to their performance style, mood, or personal branding needs.
E Ink emphasizes that because electronic paper uses reflective display technology and has bistable characteristics (consuming power only when the image changes), it can still maintain a variety of colors without the need for continuous power supply, which will create a unique atmosphere for stage performances.
Cream Guitars CEO Luis Ortiz stated, "We hope to completely redefine what a guitar can look like, and 'Da Vinci' is not only a professional electric guitar with outstanding tone, but also one that can present the artist's vision in every song and every performance opportunity."
Balancing professional performance capabilities, the first mass-produced Prism 3 product
Despite incorporating a high-tech display panel, Cream Guitars emphasizes that this product still offers professional-grade performance. The E Ink Prism 3's slim profile allows it to cover the guitar body without compromising tone, playability, or product reliability.
Hung Chi-mao, Vice President of E Ink's Business Center, pointed out that since the launch of E Ink Prism 3, it has received enthusiastic responses from creators. This collaboration with Cream Guitars symbolizes that the technology is taking another step towards the consumer market, bringing expressive instruments into the hands of creators.

Sustainable design concept
Beyond innovative applications, both parties also emphasized their shared commitment to environmental sustainability. E Ink electronic paper technology itself boasts ultra-low energy consumption, while Cream Guitars is dedicated to responsible material sourcing and waste reduction processes, thus resonating with each other on the path of sustainable development.
