E Ink Technology announced that its full range of E Ink Spectra 6 full-color ePaper products for retail applications, including the latest billboards and shelf labels, will be exhibited at the 2025 NRF Retail Expo in collaboration with Hanshow, SoluM, and VusionGroup, the world's top three shelf label system providers.
Based on the E Ink Spectra technology platform, E Ink Spectra 6 is designed to provide a print-quality alternative to all paper-based signage, including point-of-purchase displays, billboards, posters, and other in-store advertising.
E Ink Spectra 6 technology enhances the color spectrum and advanced color imaging algorithm, providing full-color display to enhance product advertising and marketing effectiveness.
E Ink Spectra 6 is ideal for indoor digital advertising, replacing traditional paper posters or illuminated LCD screens. It boasts a color gamut of 6 colors and a contrast ratio of up to 30:1. Besides an ultra-wide viewing angle of nearly 180 degrees, the reflective nature of the e-paper display ensures clear and easy readability even in bright sunlight.
Like all e-paper displays, E Ink Spectra 6 uses only a minimal amount of power when the display is updated, providing retailers with an ultra-low power solution.
Comparing the impact of using paper, LCD screens, and e-paper screen billboards on carbon dioxide emissions, if there are 3000 million 10-inch e-paper labels used as promotional billboards worldwide, each e-paper billboard updates its image four times a day, and is used continuously for five years, the use of e-paper billboards can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 4 times compared to LCD billboards. If compared to traditional paper promotional posters, carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by approximately 5 times.
In addition, low-power e-paper displays not only have huge advantages in sustainable development, but can also help retailers and advertisers provide real-time updated information.
E-paper is the world's first display technology to be certified by the International Dark-Sky Association. Compared to paper and LCD displays, e-paper offers significant energy savings and low-carbon benefits. For example, e-paper signs used in smart bus stops, combined with a solar power system, achieve 100% renewable energy, eliminating the need for grid connection and providing an ideal solution for achieving the global goal of net-zero carbon emissions.
