Dreame recently announcedCross-border car manufacturing, aiming to compete in the luxury electric vehicle market and planning to launch the first wave of models in 2027. It is now rumored that it will choose to build a production plant in Berlin, Germany, and the address will be next to Tesla's super factory in Berlin. It is expected to become the first Chinese brand to build a factory in Germany to produce vehicles.
Relevant news also pointed out that Dreame is currently in cooperation talks with BNP Paribas, which is expected to prepare for Dreame's automotive products to enter the global market.
However, Dreame has not yet responded to this.
Dreame previously stated that its first automotive plan was proposed as early as 2013, but since then it has focused on developing household cleaning products. In announcing its entry into the automotive market, Dreame stated that it will apply its household cleaning product experience to the automotive industry, adhering to founder Yu Hao's principle of identifying the 99% unfilled market and avoiding the crowded 1%. The company emphasizes targeting the high-entry luxury supercar market as a way to maximize differentiated market development opportunities.
On the other hand, the automotive industry is gradually showing a trend of "consumer electronics." The modularization of everything from power batteries to onboard systems is allowing non-traditional automakers to quickly enter the supply chain. This is especially true since the introduction of electric vehicle designs. The extensive modularization and continuous reduction of mechanical structures have also led many non-traditional automakers to begin planning for the electric vehicle market.
Relevant information indicates that Dreame has formed a team of nearly 1,000 people for vehicle products, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality control personnel. It also includes core R&D personnel from the original smart hardware business and has introduced professional talents from the traditional vehicle manufacturing field.
