Audio technology company Dolby has announced the launch of a new panoramic sound technology called Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, which allows users to pair TV speakers with any wireless speakers in the room, making it easier to expand the surround sound field in the home.
Similar technology, Samsung has previously proposed a wireless connection technology called Q-Symphony, and Sony has also proposed a technology called Acoustic Center Sync, which allows users to quickly connect multiple sets of wireless speakers in the home to expand the sound field range.
Dolby obviously hopes to allow more licensed brands to use similar functions, so it proposed Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology, and it is expected to be first used in TCL's TV models to be launched in 2024.
Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology automatically adjusts based on speaker placement, room size, and other factors, allowing the TV speakers to deliver better sound output and sound field performance, allowing users to enjoy the same sound experience no matter where they are.
According to Dobly, this technology will collect sound through the TV's built-in microphone to confirm the output effects of different speakers and make dynamic adjustments so that the details of the vocal performance can be output through the user's front speakers and form a spatial sound field through other speakers.
As for Dolby's proposed Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology, it is naturally hoped that it will make it easier for TVs and speakers of different brands to interact and connect with each other, avoiding the problem of only being able to use TVs and speakers of the same brand together.
