Exoskeleton manufacturer DNSYS has announced a collaboration with KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS to release a limited-edition Death Stranding 2: On the Beach co-branded version of its AI knee exoskeleton "Z1".DNSYS Z1 Exoskeleton Pro. "
Designed by Kojima Productions' art director Yoji Shinkawa and the DNSYS team, this product brings to life the key equipment that enhances the protagonist Sam's mobility in the game. It is scheduled to be officially released on December 2nd.
Supervised by Yoji Shinkawa, the game's world view and indicator light details are faithfully reproduced.
This collaboration is based on DNSYS's latest "Z1" knee exoskeleton, touted as the world's first AI-equipped device. Yoji Shinkawa, art director at Kojima Productions, stated, "We designed this exoskeleton with the same passion and precision we used to create the world of Death Stranding, resulting in equipment that even Sam Porter Bridges himself might wear."
In addition to drawing design inspiration from Death Stranding 2, the Z1 Pro also reproduces functional elements from the game, such as its indicator lights that can display battery level and operating status in real time, faithfully replicating the game's settings.
AI-powered intelligent gait control, 680 grams per leg, 900W torque.
The DNSYS Z1 Pro is made of lightweight materials such as aluminum/titanium alloy and carbon fiber, making each leg weigh only 680 grams. When folded, its size is comparable to that of an iPad mini, and it has an IP54 water and dust resistance rating.
Its core function lies in AI-driven performance assistance, which can provide more than 4 hours of quick-swap battery life and up to 900 watts of peak torque.
Introducing AI assistance significantly improves endurance and reduces knee stress.
The official statement emphasizes that the DNSYS Z1 Pro is designed to significantly enhance users' mobility, especially in scenarios such as hiking and climbing. Specific performance metrics include:
• Endurance Improvement: This can extend the hiking range by an additional 25 kilometers, or the vertical climbing range by 15 kilometers.
• Leg strengthening: It can add 50% extra power to the user's pace.
• Knee decompression: It can reduce the weight load on the knees by up to 200%.
• Feeling of being under weight: It allows users to instantly feel a reduction in weight of up to 20 kilograms.
• Terrain adaptation: The built-in AI system supports intelligent gait control, which can automatically adapt to rugged paths, stairs, and slopes.
