In addition to the 3-megapixel wide-angle lens with a 24mm focal length and f/1.7 aperture, the updated Air 4800 also adds a 70mm focal length, f/2.8 aperture, and 4800-megapixel telephoto lens, allowing users to have more flexible image capture options. It can even shoot dual 4K 60fps HDR video or 4K 100fps video content, supporting 10-bit D-Log M or 10-bit HLG format video, thereby preserving more highlights and shadows, or presenting a higher dynamic range performance.
The maximum flight time has been extended to 46 minutes, a 48% increase compared to the previous generation model. The new charging hub accessory can even concentrate the remaining power of multiple batteries into one battery, allowing the Air 3 to continue flying more quickly after battery replacement.
The Air 3 also incorporates all-around environmental awareness and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and uses the APAS 5.0 mechanism to automatically circumvent obstacles, allowing even first-time drone users to operate it smoothly. Furthermore, the advanced intelligent return-to-home function allows the drone to automatically return to its takeoff point faster and safer.
As for the camera functions, the Air 3 also features a focus follow shooting function, which uses the telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom to lock the subject in the center of the screen and uses the automatic obstacle avoidance function to capture smooth follow-up videos. In addition, the one-click short video function can also be used to shoot creative images such as soaring, fading, circling, spiral, comet, asteroid, etc.
With its dual-lens design, the Air 3 can also shoot vertical 2.7K video, making it suitable for sharing on social media platforms primarily used for mobile viewing. Furthermore, the Master Lens feature allows users to automatically shoot multiple short videos using a variety of camera movements, and through intelligent editing and automatic music composing, they can produce high-quality video content.
Other features include time-lapse photography, slow motion, night mode, and Smart Camera 3.0. It also supports mobile phone quick transfer, and waypoint flight allows users to plan flight routes and capture action shots, using "drifts," "lollipops," and even challenging telephoto lens maneuvers. The LightCut app even automatically identifies video clips and quickly edits them when connected wirelessly to the Air 3, allowing users to create creative videos faster.
