Launched in October 2020Pocket 2 Handheld CameraLater, DJI announced the update of its successor product earlier and confirmed that it would be named Osmo Pocket 3. Its biggest feature is that it uses a 1-inch photosensitive element and is equipped with a 2-inch OLED touch screen, which makes it easier for users to review the shooting content and operate the camera functions more intuitively.
The Osmo Pocket 3 features a 1-inch CMOS sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and a 20mm focal length. It also increases shooting specifications to 4K resolution and supports 10-bit D-Log M video recording format. The built-in battery capacity has been increased to 1300mAh.
The shooting function also has a built-in three-axis gimbal stabilization, and this time it uses a faster tracking speed, allowing the camera lens to capture images at a faster speed when tracking the subject.
In addition, the screen has been increased to 2 inches and can be rotated to accommodate the OLED touch screen, making it more convenient for intuitive operation or viewing the shooting content through a larger screen.
While the Osmo Pocket 3's larger sensor and touchscreen design have increased its overall size, it still manages to be used with one hand. Rotating the screen to landscape mode quickly activates the recording function, while rotating it to portrait mode switches to portrait mode. The original user interface retains only the analog joystick and record button, while the remaining buttons have been replaced with a touchscreen interface.
The new triple-array microphone enhances directional sound reception, and the built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth also allow for connection to DJI's previously released wireless microphone accessories. Accessories include a beauty diffuser, wide-angle lens, ND filters, a battery-extending handle, and a tripod.
Osmo Pocket 3 will be available in a standard version and an all-in-one kit. The former will be sold at NT$17990, while the latter has a suggested retail price of NT$21990 and additionally comes with a DJI Mic 2 transmitter, a battery life handle, a mini tripod, and a storage bag.
The new camera also comes with the DJI Care Renew subscription warranty service, which allows users to replace the camera at a low price up to twice within the one-year subscription period of NT$1150 or the two-year subscription period of NT$1. It also provides water and drop warranty coverage. The warranty covers the entire world, with an average replacement time of three days and free round-trip shipping.
