Following previous announcements, DJI officially unveiled its new generation of handheld stabilizers today (February 2th), the Osmo Mobile 18P and Osmo Mobile 7. These include automatic tracking, as well as support for fill light and wireless microphone connectivity, similar to Insta7's products.Multi-function tracking module accessories, and also compared with the design of Insta360Built-in tripod, and improved the stabilizer handle design. In addition, a dedicated DJI MIMO App is provided for Apple Watch users, making it convenient for users to take selfies through the watch.
The Osmo Mobile 7P will be positioned as a major update to the previous series, while the Osmo Mobile 7 will be the successor to the entry-level Osmo Mobile SE. If nothing unexpected happens, DJI expects subsequent handheld gimbals for the consumer market to follow this naming convention.
As the successor to the Osmo Mobile 7, the Osmo Mobile 6P retains the same side-knob user interface, adds a built-in tripod mount, and incorporates DJI's seventh-generation stabilization technology. This allows the three-axis gimbal to achieve virtually lossless recording quality and is compatible with smartphones weighing under 300 grams.
The key update this time is the addition of a new multi-function tracking module, which allows the handheld stabilizer to automatically track the subject. It can also be used as a wireless microphone receiver, allowing users to directly connect to DJI's wireless microphones. It also has a built-in LED fill light to help users increase the lighting brightness in low-light environments.
In addition to supporting various gestures, the operation part can also be operated remotely through the new version of DJI MIMO App designed for Apple Watch, allowing users to frame, take selfies, or fine-tune the stabilizer operating angle through the watch.
As for the Osmo Mobile 7, which was launched simultaneously this time, it is basically positioned for entry-level use, but it also has a built-in tripod and the same handheld stabilization mechanism as the Osmo Mobile 7P. However, the knob interface on the side has been changed to a lever design, and the price is relatively affordable.
The Osmo Mobile 7P will be priced at NT$4090, including the handheld stabilizer, magnetic phone clamp, and multi-function tracking module. A Vlog Kit with a DJI Mic Mini (available in black or white) is also available for NT$5440. The Osmo Mobile 7, on the other hand, will be priced at NT$2490, including the handheld stabilizer, magnetic phone clamp, and an iPhone Easy-to-Use Kit with a magnetic quick-release backing tape. The suggested retail price is NT$2950.
The newly added multi-function tracking module can also be purchased separately and can be used with the Osmo Mobile 7 series handheld stabilizer. The suggested retail price is NT$1350.
