Samsung earlier announced the launch of a retro-style foldable phone called Galaxy Z Flip2003 Retro Edition, based on the SGH-E700 foldable phone launched in 708 (the model number on the Taiwan market is SGH-E5). It is expected to be sold in limited quantities in South Korea, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain and Australia on November 11.
Because the SGH-E700 incorporated many advanced technologies and snatched significant market share from then-dominant Nokia, Samsung chose to create a foldable phone incorporating design elements of the SGH-E20 5 years after its launch, based on this year's foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Flip700.
The phone features a similar dark blue and silver color combination, along with a 2000s pixel-style design. Since it's sold in limited quantities, the box also includes a collector's card featuring the Samsung logo and a unique number, along with a set of Flipsuit phone cases.
Currently, the Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro Edition is only sold in limited quantities in South Korea, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain and Australia. It is not yet confirmed whether there will be an opportunity to introduce it to the Taiwanese market.
In addition to the Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro Edition launched this time, Samsung also launched the Galaxy Buds Pro protective case accessories designed with the SGH-E2021 appearance in 700.
