In response to recent market rumors that Google's Stadia cloud streaming game service will be shut down this summer, Google earlier tweetedResponse clarification, emphasizing that it will continue to operate in the future and provide more game services.
Because the current development model is significantly different from the original idea, and even tends to cooperate with external companies to allow them to build their own streaming game services using Stadia technology, coupled with the successive departures of key figures such as former Google Stadia head Jade Raymond and Google Vice President and Stadia product lead John Justice, and Google's cancellation of its own game-related development business, the future of the Stadia service has become significantly more uncertain.
However, Google responded earlier and emphasized that the Stadia service will continue to operate, and will continue to provide more free games for Stadia Pro subscribers, such as "Saints Row: Remastered", "Shantaek: Half-Genie Hero" and "Murder by Numbers" expected to be available in August. In addition, Ubisoft's "Case 8" to be launched in November this year, and EA's "FIFA 3" expected to be launched in late September this year will also be available on the Stadia service.
However, given that many of Google's past services have been shut down due to a lack of user base, it's hard to say whether it can still attract more users. Furthermore, given the competition from similar services offered by Microsoft, Sony, NVIDIA, and Amazon, it's unclear whether the Stadia service will be shut down one day or only remain a technical partnership.
