Founded by National Taiwan University's Innovation Center accelerator alumnus Chung Bo-han, DeepBrain Japan, which was selected for the Techstars Founder Catalyst startup accelerator and received subsidies from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and Shizuoka Prefecture for new industry creation, has created the "Japanese Speaking Teacher Aoi" app, which uses OpenAI's ChatGPT technology to enable more efficient Japanese learning through artificial intelligence.
Zhong Bohan shared his personal experience, explaining that he went to work in Japan eight years ago without knowing any Japanese, and actually experienced the difficulties of learning to speak Japanese. This includes the fact that due to the differences between Chinese and Japanese vowels, most people who learn Japanese often face the problem of their spoken pronunciation not being understood by the Japanese. Even when taking the JLPT Japanese test, they are afraid to speak for fear of making mistakes, which leads to communication difficulties.
Therefore, the "Japanese Speaking Tutor Aoi" app incorporates ChatGPT technology into travel, daily life, and work scenarios, allowing users to simulate conversations with the app. Through long-term speaking practice, users can improve their pronunciation and word choice, and gain greater confidence when speaking.
During operation, the app will use voice recognition to correct the user's pronunciation and whether errors can be understood by Japanese people. It can also correct grammatical errors and suggest better ways of expression, thereby enhancing oral expression skills and word accuracy.
Since its launch in April this year, the "Japanese Speaking Teacher Aoi" app has accumulated more than 4 users and received a 1-star rating on the App Store and a 4.9-star rating on the Google Play Store.
