ZDNet Korea websiteAccording to reports, Intel is expected to launch the next-generation Arrow Lake Refresh desktop processor in the second half of this year. It is expected that through the NPU design with higher computing performance, more Windows desktop products will be able to meet the "Copilot+ PC" specifications proposed by Microsoft, thereby allowing more desktops to meet the latest AI PC computing usage needs.
Although Intel launched last OctoberCore Ultra series desktop processors codenamed Arrow LakeAlthough it has a built-in NPU, its performance has not yet reached the standard requirements of Microsoft's "Copilot+ PC". Therefore, the products that can be called "Copilot+ PC" are only equipped with processors such as Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite or IntelCore Ultra processor codenamed Lunar Lake, AMD's new Ryzen AI-designed processor is suitable for laptops or small desktops.
Intel plans to update its Arrow Lake Refresh desktop processors in the second half of this year. These processors will not only boost CPU clock speeds and be optimized for high-performance computing and gaming, but will also be equipped with an upgraded NPU to enhance AI application performance.
However, it remains to be seen whether the increasing AI computing power of desktop computers will drive changes in more desktop application scenarios, such as AI image generation, voice assistants, or game optimization, further altering the role of desktop computers.
On the other hand, it is currently unclear whether Microsoft will adjust the "Copilot+ PC" specifications again or add more Copilot function applications.
