Founded 14 years ago, Jolla was developed by former Nokia employees after Nokia abandoned the MeeGo system, and they created the Sailfish operating system. Although they launched their first phone in 2013, in recent years the company has mainly transformed into a software vendor, licensing its operating system to manufacturers such as Sony Xperia, OnePlus, and Samsung.
Jolla has set a crowdfunding threshold for its return to hardware manufacturing. According to the pre-order page, production will only begin if 2000 pre-orders are successfully placed by January 4, 2026. The good news is that pre-orders have already exceeded 2100 units, confirming that production will begin and deliveries are expected to start in the first half of 2026.

In terms of hardware specifications, this new phone is equipped with a MediaTek 5G-enabled processor, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage (expandable up to 2TB). The screen is a 6.36-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a pixel density of 390ppi. Other specifications include a 5000MP wide-angle lens and a 1300MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Detailed hardware specifications are expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2026.
