Cisco announced a new Silicon One series of network chips for artificial intelligence supercomputing systems and is collaborating with major cloud service providers for testing. It also competes with Broadcom and Marvell in the market.
In addition, Cisco announced the launch of the next-generation network switches G200 and G202, which include the ability to connect 32000 GPUs in series and can handle data transmission performance exceeding 51.2 Tbps. At the same time, they will respond to the increasingly popular market demand for applications such as artificial intelligence computing or machine learning, and are claimed to be able to reduce the overall data exchange rate, which can not only improve overall operational efficiency but also reduce power loss.
Cisco has currently partnered with five of the major cloud service providers for testing, but has not disclosed the specific names of the partners.
