Remember that British startup that gave iPhones a physical keyboard case?ClicksWell, at CES 2026 this year, they went even further.
Clicks recently unveiled its first smartphone, the Clicks Communicator. This phone exudes a strong retro vibe, featuring a physical QWERTY keyboard and proclaiming the slogan "Communication, not consumption," positioning itself as a "second phone" for users.
In addition, Clicks also launched a universal magnetic keyboard accessory, the Power Keyboard.
Clicks Communicator: The Blackberry for the Modern Soul
The Communicator's design is instantly reminiscent of the classic BlackBerry or Palm Treo. It features a 4-inch OLED screen, below which is a classic physical keyboard. To emphasize its "dedicated communication device" positioning, it retains many specifications that nostalgic for veteran users:
• 3.5mm headphone jack
• Micro SD memory card expansion (supports up to 2TB)
• Physical fingerprint recognition (integrated into the space bar)
The system runs the latest Android 16 and supports hardware-level encryption. While the official recommendation is to limit its use for social media, the camera specifications are impressive, featuring a 5000MP main lens and a 2400MP front-facing camera. Connectivity options include NFC (supporting Google Pay), Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. It also has a built-in 4000mAh battery and supports wireless charging.
The most interesting little feature is the "Signal LED," a customizable breathing light that allows users to know who sent the message or which app sent the notification simply by looking at the light color, without turning on the screen, greatly reducing digital interference.
Pricing and availability information:The Communicator is currently open for pre-orders, with an early bird price of US$399 (approximately NT$12,800). The price will return to the original price of US$499 after February 27.
Power Keyboard: Magnetic attachment, a tribute to Sidekick
In addition to mobile phones, Clicks also responded to the needs of many non-iPhone users by launching the universal Power Keyboard.
This keyboard is no longer a protective case; instead, it attaches to the back of the phone via MagSafe or Qi2 magnetic attachment. It has a built-in 2150mAh battery, allowing you to charge your phone while typing. The coolest feature is its stand design, which allows the phone to be magnetically attached horizontally or vertically. When used horizontally, its overall shape is strikingly similar to the legendary T-Mobile Sidekick from back in the day.
Thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity, the Power Keyboard supports iOS devices and Android phones, and can even be used with tablets, smart TVs, or VR headsets.
Pricing and availability information:The Power Keyboard will be available for pre-order on January 2nd, with an early bird price of $80 (approximately NT$2500) and a full price of $110. It is expected to ship this spring.
