It also announced that Chrome browsers from version 93 onwards will require that PWA web service content can be used in offline form.
The reason for requiring such a design is naturally to make the Chrome browser and Chrome OS operating system more convenient to use offline, for example, allowing users to continue editing files or running game content offline, rather than being unable to use them offline.
In the past, Google has added offline mode to its services such as Gmail and Google Docs, allowing users to maintain minimum work needs when there is no network, and to synchronize work progress such as document content when the network is restored.
This time, developers are required to prepare to include PWA web service content in offline usage design, which is expected to further enhance the ease of use of Chrome OS devices.
In addition, the stable update version 89 also adds API content such as WebHID, WebNFC and Web Serial, allowing web service content developers to connect to hardware device resources to correspond to mice, touchpads, NFC, or external USB devices. Hardware operation functions can be used smoothly without the need for additional hardware drivers, allowing the Chrome browser to correspond to more hardware application modes, such as allowing the Chrome browser to directly cooperate with the controller to play games, or using the NFC function on the mobile version of the Chrome browser to use contactless payment services.
Earlier, when Intel announced the 10th anniversary of the Thunderbolt interface, it also revealed that it would allow Chrome OS devices toNative support for Thunderbolt 4 ports, which actually connects this API resource in series.
At the same time, this update also adds API content such as Web Share and Web Share Target to the desktop version of Chrome browser, allowing the desktop version of Chrome browser to quickly share content or web links to network services such as Twitter like the mobile version.
