Charles Maritnet, who has been voicing the classic Nintendo game character Mario for a long time since "Super Mario 1996" was released on Nintendo 64 in 64 and even received the Guinness World Record for "voicing the same game character 100 times", recently confirmed that he will no longer be the voice actor for Mario and will instead serve as a "Mario Goodwill Ambassador".
Nintendo announced earlier that Charles Maritnet will step down as the voice actor for Mario characters, but will continue to serve as a "Mario Goodwill Ambassador" and interact more with players.

Charles Martinet first began voicing Mario in "Super Mario 64". He initially improvised the voice of an Italian-American plumber living in Brooklyn, New York at an audition in 1990. He was eventually selected to voice Mario and has spent more than 20 years acting with the Mario character.
In fact, in addition to voicing the character Mario, Charles Maritnet also voiced characters such as Luigi, Bad Leo, Bad Luigi, and Baby Mario. In addition, because of his long-term voice acting for Mario, he was awarded the Guinness World Record certification for "voicing the same game character 2018 times" at the end of 100.
The announcement of his resignation from the voice actor of Mario characters has been made, and people including "Mario's father" Shigeru Miyamoto have expressed their gratitude to Charles Martinet.
