Garmin announced the new Venu Sq 2 sports watch, which has a square face compared to previous Venu models.
In terms of design, the Venu Sq 2 uses a 1.41-inch AMOLED rectangular screen, which increases the display area by approximately 17%. At the same time, the battery life can reach up to 12 days in power saving mode, and up to 11 days even in normal use. However, if GPS is turned on, it only lasts for 20 hours.
In terms of functions, the fourth-generation Garmin heart rate sensor can be used to correspond to heart rate, respiration, blood oxygen concentration, stress index, calorie consumption, body energy and other data. For female users, it can record menstruation, pregnancy tracking and other functions.
Other features include an "Instant Health Report" function that measures all body data every two minutes and can output charts to facilitate discussions between users and doctors or health consultants. In addition, the "Hot Blood Time" function can record the time of intense activity every day, and add "Restless Sleep" state detection for deep sleep, rapid eye movement, and sleep states between light sleep and wakefulness, thereby making sleep quality records more accurate.
In terms of sports functions, Venu Sq 2 has added tennis, SUP stand-up paddling activities, and HIIT high-intensity interval training, bringing the number of sports recording items to 25.
Like previous models, the Venu Sq 2 also features real-time push notifications linked to your phone, and supports the Garmin Pay service for binding credit cards and EasyCards to meet small payment needs. It can also be automatically topped up with the EasyPay app.
The Venu Sq 2 is available in three colors: pigeon feather gray, extreme white, and metallic mint, with a suggested retail price of NT$7990. Garmin has also launched a music version compatible with services such as Spotify and KBOX, available in three colors: classic black, ivory white, and French cocoa, with a suggested retail price of NT$8990. Both versions will go on sale in the Taiwanese market on September 9.
