Following its official return in August with the launch of the Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2 smartwatches, Pebble recently announced the release of a smart ring called "Index 01." Unlike the Ora Ring or Galaxy Ring on the market, which are crammed with health sensors, the Index 01's design is almost anti-technologically simple; it's essentially a ring with a microphone, its sole purpose being to allow you to record your inspirations anytime, anywhere. Press and record—an "external memory" for your brain. The Index 01's usage is quite intuitive. When you're walking down the street or when it's inconvenient to take out your phone, and a sudden inspiration strikes, simply press the button on the ring, whisper into it, and the ring will convert your speech into text and send it to your phone's notes app for storage. Pebble founder Eric Migicovsky describes it as an "external memory" for the brain. This ring has no screen, no vibration notifications, and doesn't even force the inclusion of currently ubiquitous AI features (only voice-to-text is included), aiming to eliminate the need to dig your phone out of your pocket or bag to write down a sentence. Furthermore, since recording is only activated by pressing a physical button, users don't need to worry about it constantly monitoring private conversations like some smart speakers, and there are no subscription fees required. Battery life reaches "several years," and it's completely recharge-free...
