Canon earlier announced the launch of a new travel camera, the PowerShot SX70 HS, which mainly continues the design of the SX2014 HS launched in 60, increases the resolution to 2030 million pixels, and adopts the new DIGIC 8 image processor. It also adds 4K video recording function, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity functions.
However, since the focus is mainly on upgrading the internal hardware specifications, the PowerShot SX70 HS is almost identical to the SX60 HS in appearance, with only a fine-adjustment zoom lever added next to the lens for video recording needs. The lens still maintains the 21-1365mm f/3.4-6.5 65x zoom specification design, and the image sensor still maintains the 1/2.3-inch specification.
While the overall user interface remains largely unchanged, the PowerShot SX70 HS's main enhancements lie in higher resolution and 4K video recording. Continuous shooting can reach 10 frames per second, with a sensitivity range of ISO 100-3200. It also supports UHS-I SDXC memory cards, and the battery life is sufficient for up to 325 photos.
In terms of the suggested retail price, the PowerShot SX70 HS will be sold at US$550, which will be targeted at the needs of taking photos and recording videos.
