Canon earlier announced the EOS C50, a compact RF mount movie camera that uses a similar design to Sony's Cinema FX3,Cinema FX30The design allows users to shoot movies in a more compact form factor. To complement this new camera, Canon has developed a new 3200-megapixel, 35mm full-frame sensor, boasting native 7K60p video and continuous still photo shooting at up to 40 frames per second. This compact body allows for a wider range of shooting angles, appealing to a wider range of content capture needs.
The EOS C50 body size is 142 x 88 x 95mm, weighs approximately 670 grams, and the battery weighs approximately 82 grams. The total weight of the body including the battery and handle accessories is approximately 1000 grams.
The EOS C50 can shoot in Canon Log 2 (C-Log 2) format at ISO 800 and ISO 6400 for better low-light performance, up to ISO 64000. It supports 12K7p shooting with up to 60-bit Cinema RAW Light, 7K30p shooting in RAW HQ, and higher bit rate shooting through XF-AVC S and XF-HEV C modes.
On the other hand, the EOS C50 is also Canon's first model that can convert losslessly to Open Gate Raw, full-frame, Super 3mm, Super 2mm and other shooting formats in a 35:16 aspect ratio. This allows it to be used with models such as Panasonic. It can support 3K2p short videos in a maximum 6960:4640 aspect ratio, 12 x 7 resolution and 60-bit RAW format, or 7K oversampling to 10-bit 4K video. It also supports Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus and can natively support a variety of RF lenses through the RF ring, or support PL and EF mount lenses through the Canon adapter ring.

The body of the camera is equipped with five-axis image stabilization, active cooling and other functions, and is equipped with a 3-inch, 162 million pixel, multi-angle flip screen. It is also equipped with HDMI, Time Code, microphone and headphone jacks, USB-C, and can be connected to the corresponding Ethernet wired transmission function through a USB-C adapter, or wireless transmission through Wi-Fi. It also supports UVC, UAC output, and remote control. The body can be easily held through the XLR detachable handle, and the storage interface supports CFexpress B or SD UHS-II memory cards.
The EOS C50 body only has a suggested retail price of US$3899 and is expected to be officially shipped before the end of the fourth quarter of this year. The RF85mm F/1.4 L VCM lens that will be launched with this new camera is expected to be launched first in September with a suggested retail price of US$9.
In addition, Canon has also updated the PowerShot Elph 2016 HS portable camera launched in 360, launching the new PowerShot Elph 360 HS A, which supports 12x optical zoom and micro SD memory card storage. The suggested retail price is US$380 and is expected to be officially launched in October this year.
