ViewSonic announced a partnership with Microsoft to launch the world's firstDesigned for XboxProjector products created.
Based on the current market share of projectors in Taiwan, ViewSonic's projector products are second only to Epson. However, compared to most brands, whose market share has shown a significant decline or remained flat, ViewSonic is actually experiencing counter-trend growth. Therefore, it hopes to collaborate with Microsoft on the "Designed for Xbox" design, launching the world's first projector designed specifically for Xbox applications, and thus enter the gaming application market.
ViewSonic stated that in the past it mainly focused on the projection needs of the commercial and general consumer markets. This time, it is collaborating with Microsoft to enter the gaming market and cooperate with game developers and publishers. It also plans to strengthen ViewSonic's impression of entering the gaming market through player communities and advertising.
The newly launched X1-4K and X2-4K projectors both comply with the "Designed for Xbox" design, and both can accommodate a maximum projection area of 120 inches, and can achieve 4K HDR display specifications. They can also support a 1440Hz frame refresh rate at 120P resolution, and even a 1080Hz frame refresh rate at 240P resolution, thereby improving the display delay and blurring of traditional projectors.
Furthermore, the HDMI 2.0 output with CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) functionality allows you to power up the projector simultaneously with your Xbox console. A Harman Kardon sound system is used for sound, ensuring optimal gaming soundstage performance.
Both projectors utilize Texas Instruments' 0.65-inch DMD chip, enhancing color performance through high native contrast, clearly presenting details in both bright and dark areas of gaming scenes. Both utilize LEDs as their projection light source, differing in that only the X2-4K features a short-throw design.
The projector launched this time uses the third-generation LED technology, which corresponds to a brightness of 3 lumens. It can still maintain clear projection image quality in bright environments. The service life is up to 2900 hours. Even if it is turned on for 60000 hours a day, it can still be used continuously for 5 years.
Both projectors feature a trendy black base with green accents, representing Microsoft Xbox, echoing the appearance of the Xbox Series X.
However, due to the current specifications of the Texas Instruments chip, the two projectors launched this time do not yet have the VRR (variable refresh rate) function. However, ViewSonic has revealed that future successor products will incorporate this design and will even introduce laser light sources in short-throw projection designs to achieve faster and more accurate projection effects.
The X1-4K and X2-4K projectors will be available in Taiwan in early September. Pre-orders from now until August 9st will qualify you for the "Buy an Xbox Series Projector and Login to Enjoy Gifts" event. By registering with your purchase receipt, you'll receive a 8-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate serial number and a chance to participate in the "Xbox Series X Diablo 31 Limited Edition Bundle" draw.
