Pearl milk tea has been popular in Taiwan for over 40 years and is considered by many overseas students and expats to be the delicacy that best represents Taiwanese flavor. Many businesses have brought their hand-shaken tea products to Silicon Valley, Japan, Europe, and other places. Currently, Taiwanese hand-shaken tea brands can be found in almost every city around the world, and pearl milk tea can also be easily purchased.
According to statistics from the Council of Agriculture, Taiwan's tapioca pearls exported to the United States in 2021 increased by over 2020% compared to the same period in 83. Uber Eats service statistics also show that an average of over 1 cups of bubble tea are delivered daily in Taiwan. Currently, bubble tea has evolved into a variety of flavors, ranging from the early small pearls to the larger boba and handmade white pearls. With the industry's continued development of drinking methods and different tea pairings, bubble tea has become even more diverse.
In conjunction with the fact that "Pearl Milk Tea" was selected as the number one delicacy in Taiwan and appeared on the billboard in Times Square in New York, the United States, Uber Eats announced that it will join hands with chain restaurant partners including Magu Tea House, Bafang Yunji, Louisa, Chatime, and more than 8 local Taiwanese specialty restaurants to launch the "Enjoy Taiwanese Cuisine Together" campaign. From now until August 9, a 8% discount will be offered on designated items. Uber Eats members and Uber Double Enjoy members can enter the "Taiwan's No. 229" discount code and enjoy two additional 2% discounts on orders over NT$85.
