As previously statedAfter completing the acquisition of VMware, Broadcom has now completely terminated VMware's original license purchase sales model and switched to a subscription model.More certainIt is expected that VMware's existing reseller and service provider partnerships will be terminated on February 2024, 2, and the original cooperation models must be re-signed with Broadcom.
The new partnership model will be re-signed through the Broadcom Advantage Partner Program, but applications are only open to qualified sales partners. According to relevant sources, Broadcom will only re-sign with distribution partners with sales of more than $50 US dollars. Existing partners with sales below this amount will not be re-signed.
Currently, most of VMware's existing reseller and service provider partnerships will end after January 2024, and some contracts will end in April 1. At the same time, only a few reseller and service provider partnerships may be able to continue to cooperate with Broadcom.
Some small distributors expressed dissatisfaction with this, emphasizing that although their sales volume was not high in the past, they had maintained a long-term cooperative relationship with VMware, and even some of the products sold involved multi-year licensing agreements. Broadcom only provided a short period of time to handle related business and only re-signed with specific partners, which will have a considerable impact.
However, some dealers said that their monthly sales volume is about US$4, but they have also received invitation notifications from Broadcom's Premium Partner Program, so sales volume may not be the only factor in deciding whether to re-sign.
