Threads Software emphasized that it holds the Threads name trademark and will request a court injunction if Meta does not stop using the Threads name within 30 days.
According to Threads Software's attorney, it registered the Threads name trademark as early as 2012 and used it for corporate emails, tweets, and a message center service database that stores VoIP voice call content.
Prior to this, Meta had requested through its appointed lawyers to acquire the domain name "threads.app" corresponding to Threads Software's services, and Threads Software believed that it was facing a serious threat from Meta.
