According to the latest official news from Meta, Facebook has officially introduced a series of new features powered by Meta AI. This update focuses not on helping with copywriting, but on "visual entertainment": turning your static profile picture into an animated waving greeting, and even giving your Stories and Memories a "makeover," transforming them into completely different art styles.
Can the photo booth picture wave? AI adds drama for you.
First up is the "AI Animated Avatar". This feature allows users to upload a static selfie, and then Meta AI analyzes your facial features and applies a preset animation module.
There are currently 5 known "canned food effects" to choose from:
• Nature
• Wave
• Party Hat
• Confetti
• Heart
Meta officially recommends using a clear, front-facing photo of yourself to avoid excessive facial distortion calculated by the AI. This feature is clearly intended to add some "life" (or, to give the otherwise lifeless profile page a more eerie AI feel).
Restyle Feature: Tired of reminiscing? Use AI to reshape it.
Another update is the "Restyle" feature for Stories and Memories. If you find photos taken a few years ago too boring, you can now use this tool to completely change the visual style of your photos using generative AI.
Users can choose preset filters (such as "Anime" or "Low-poly"), or simply enter text prompts to have AI redraw the background and lighting. Meta describes this as creating "shareable moments" and encouraging interaction with friends.
In addition, Facebook has added a new "Dynamic Backgrounds for Text Posts" feature, allowing your plain text posts to be paired with AI-generated animated backgrounds such as falling leaves or ocean waves.
AI Slop to be a standalone app? "Vibes" is about to debut.
If that's not enough, Meta seems to be planning to give you more. Previous reports confirmed that Meta is developing a...An independent app called "Vibes"This platform is specifically designed to play these short video and audio content generated by AI. Meta believes that this low-cost generated content, which is jokingly referred to as "AI Slop" by foreign netizens, actually has huge traffic potential and is even worthy of having its own dedicated platform.
