Bose announced that the Bose Frames, a wearable device that combines sunglasses and speakers, will be available for sale in the Taiwan market from now on.
Bose Frames incorporates its smallest and lightest augmented reality system design into its sunglasses design. It is also compatible with the Bose AR audio augmented reality platform, allowing users to listen to streaming music from their mobile phone while wearing the sunglasses, and answer and make calls, or use voice assistant services.
The sunglasses block up to 99% of UVA/UVB rays and weigh only 45 grams. The original lenses can be swapped out for darker lenses. Bose offers mirrored silver polarized lenses or gradient blue non-polarized lenses, both of which are scratch- and shatter-resistant. They charge magnetically in 2 hours, providing approximately 3.5 hours of continuous playback and up to 12 hours of standby time.
Furthermore, the Bose AR system will work with the glasses' nine-axis motion sensors and the built-in GPS function of iOS or Android devices to confirm the user's current location and enable new interactions through voice. However, the Bose AR system's application functions may vary depending on the market where the product is sold.
The Bose Frames will be available in Taiwan for NT$6800 and come with a protective case and microfiber pouch for easy storage. The interchangeable mirrored silver polarized lenses and gradient blue non-polarized lenses are priced at NT$980 and NT$700, respectively.
