Blackmagic announced last yearDaVinci Resolve video editing tool for iPadLater, at the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2023 event, it was announced that DaVinci Resolve would be brought to Windows on Snapdragon designs and would also be available as a free download.
The announcement of DaVinci Resolve for Windows on Snapdragon will leverage the performance of Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite processor and auto-generative AI to enhance editing efficiency and provide richer editing application features.
According to Blackmagic, compared to the same software running on an Intel processor with the same 12-core design, the Snapdragon X Elite processor will see a 1.7x improvement in performance. Furthermore, AI computing can increase performance by more than three times.
DaVinci Resolve is expected to officially be available on Windows on Snapdragon-designed products in 2024, allowing more creators to easily edit and create using Arm-based PCs without being limited to using relatively bulky and power-consuming performance devices to handle video editing needs.
