This marks the first time Google has held a separate event prior to Google I/O to highlight an Android operating system update. Sameer Samat, President of Android Ecosystem, will be the keynote speaker. Google explained that due to the large number of updates to be announced, it is hosting a special "Android Show" I/O edition event this year. However, Google emphasized that it will continue to prioritize Android operating system updates during Google I/O 2025.
Prior to this, the "Android Show" content broadcast on the YouTube channel was mainly a series of programs produced for developers to explain many Android operating system adjustments and functional applications.
Currently, Google has accelerated the pace of providing new Android versions for developers to test, such as the one expected to be officially launched this year.Android 16 operating systemGoogle released the first wave of development preview versions to developers as early as late November 2024, and released the stable version of the platform in March 11. Recently, it has also released the final Beta version to developers, which can almost be regarded as a quasi-official version. More features will be announced during Google I/O 2025.
