Apple's Beats launches new Powerbeats Fit sports headphones, which can be regarded as the first released in 2021BeatsFitProThe successor product, with a design more tailored to long-term wear and athletic performance, continues the brand's influence in both the sports and everyday wear markets. Pre-orders for this model begin today, with the same price as the previous model at US$200 (NT$6990), and the official release is expected on October 2nd.
Compared to the Beats Fit Pro, the Powerbeats Fit doesn't undergo a major design overhaul, but rather refines the details. The most noticeable improvement comes from the more flexible wing-shaped support structure, which allows the earphones to remain as stable during intense exercise as the previous Powerbeats Pro earhook design, while also reducing discomfort from prolonged wear. Coupled with the newly added "extra small" eartip size, the overall wearing options are more flexible.
Another practical change is the charging case, which has been reduced in size by approximately 17%. It also boasts an IPX4 rating for splash resistance, providing added peace of mind when using it in the gym or for outdoor activities. The earbuds themselves also maintain IPX4 protection, making them resistant to sweat and light rain.
In terms of functional specifications, Powerbeats Fit inherits the core features of the previous generation, including active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode, and personalized spatial audio, dynamic head tracking, and Adaptive EQ supported by the Apple H1 chip. Users can also track the location of the earphones through Apple's "Find My" function, and support convenient functions such as automatic switching between multiple devices and hands-free "Hey Siri" operation.
Battery life remains the same: the earphones can be used for 7 hours with active noise cancellation turned off, and up to 30 hours with the charging box, while the battery life with active noise cancellation turned on is 6 hours and 24 hours respectively.
In terms of operating experience, Powerbeats Fit maintains a physical button design instead of a touch interface, which is more intuitive and less prone to accidental touches for sports users. It can quickly switch music playback, volume, listening mode, and even make voice assistant calls.
In terms of cross-platform experience, iOS users can complete the settings directly through the system, while Android users can use the dedicated application to perform pairing and customization operations, including battery check, button settings, and earbud seal testing.
In addition to the two classic colors of black and gray, Powerbeats Fit also adds orange and pink versions, emphasizing the fusion of fashion and sports style.
