EA and its Battlefield studio officially unveiled the latest game in the series during a global live event held in Los Angeles.Battlefield 6 (Battlefield 6) is expected to be released on PlayStation 10, Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms (including Steam, EA App and Epic Games Store) on October 10.
As the next chapter in the Battlefield series, Battlefield VI features a "total war" scale. Beyond expanding the classic multiplayer mode, it will also feature a completely reimagined single-player campaign and an evolved Portal creative editing system. Furthermore, the official announcement was made that the series' largest public beta in history will begin over two weekends in August, inviting players worldwide to experience it firsthand.
Battlefield narrative in a chaotic future, single-player story returns
The story is set in 2027. A global political assassination causes major European powers to withdraw from NATO, leaving the United States and its allies facing a geopolitical vacuum. A well-funded and technologically advanced private military company, the Peace Corps, takes advantage of the situation and rises to fight against the still-struggling NATO forces.
Battlefield 6 will feature a long-awaited single-player campaign mode, taking players deep into the front lines of a war where the fates of the characters intertwine. While details have yet to be fully revealed, officials have revealed that this will be a massive story spanning multiple locations around the globe, from city streets to desert strongholds, filled with chaotic scenes of bullets and flames.
The multiplayer mode has been completely revamped, and the classic gameplay has returned with a bang
This comprehensive upgrade to multiplayer features the most extensive lineup of maps and modes ever in the series. The game includes traditional large-scale battle modes like Conquest, Breach, and Raid, as well as faster-paced competitive modes like Team Deathmatch, Assault, and King of the Hill.
Maps span the globe, including the Egyptian dunes, the Strait of Gibraltar, and the New York metropolitan area. Each map is tailored for a specific mode, ensuring a unique tactical experience in each combat zone. The new mode, "Full Upgrade," will focus on the battle for strategic control points, enhancing the depth of confrontation and occupation.
A new combat system is launched, and the arms and destruction mechanisms are further strengthened
The game incorporates a new control logic called the "Kinesthetic Combat System," further enhancing character mobility and tactical freedom. Players can perform actions such as dragging teammates to provide first aid and placing weapons in cover to reduce recoil, making the experience more immersive and practical.
The arms system has also been adjusted and expanded. The classic assault soldiers, scouts, support soldiers, and engineers have returned. Each arm is equipped with exclusive accessories and skill training, allowing players to more accurately play the role they choose.
At the same time, the site destruction mechanism will also be upgraded. Players can not only destroy buildings to change the situation of the battle, but also create new routes and tap into tactical advantages, making each battle process more changeable and unpredictable.
The evolved version of "Portal" helps players create their own battlefield rules
The Portal system, first introduced in Battlefield 2042, returns with a completely new look. The new Portal system is more streamlined and user-friendly, offering more powerful customization tools, allowing players to create their own weapon rules and mode parameters, creating their own "social experience."
This system not only encourages players to create freely, but also injects a steady stream of fresh content into the game. Combined with future expansion plans, new maps, modes, and weapons will be released regularly.
The largest Beta test in history is about to begin
EA表示,《戰地風雲6》將展開系列史上最大規模的Beta公開測試,分別於8月9-10日與14-17日舉行。凡事先觀賞直播的玩家可提前於8月7日搶先進入測試。
The Beta test content includes a variety of multiplayer modes and maps, and will be available simultaneously on all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, paving the way for the official launch.
EA wants to revive the Battlefield brand with the help of four major studios
Battlefield 6 is jointly developed by four major studios: Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect, forming a project team called Battlefield Studio, which shows EA's high attention to this game.
"We understand why players love Battlefield, and this time we've returned to our core design principles: making every battle epic," said Byron Beede, Vice President of EA.
Executive Vice President Vince Zampella added: "I've worked on countless games, and Battlefield 6 is truly special. We can't wait to share more about it until its release on October 10th."
