Logitech earlier announced the G502 X gaming mouse, based on the G502. It offers a wired version of the G502 X, a wireless version of the G502 X Lightspeed, and a wireless version of the G502 X Plus with additional RGB lighting effects.
All three designs feature Logitech's latest HERO 25K sensor, a further lightweight housing, a dual-mode scroll wheel, and 13 customizable buttons. The wired G502 X weighs just 89 grams, while the wireless G502 X Lightspeed with built-in battery weighs just 99 grams. The G502 X Plus, with its RGB lighting, tips the scales at 106 grams.
Logitech has also adopted the new Lightforce composite optical micro switch in its three mice models, changing the traditional metal contact trigger design to a light shielding trigger mode while retaining the operational feel of the micro switch. The benefit is that it speeds up the mouse button click triggering speed and accuracy, while also reducing the wear and tear of the traditional mechanical structure over time, which can lead to problems such as incorrect triggering.
Furthermore, the DPI toggle button on the original mouse is now removable, allowing for different operating methods or replacing it with a cover to prevent accidental touches. Using the POWERPLAY accessory, the wireless G502 X Lightspeed or G502 X Plus can be charged while in use.
The G502 X Plus's RGB backlighting utilizes eight LEDs, with lighting effects and colors defined by software. When the user holds the mouse, the LEDs automatically turn off to minimize power loss.
All three G502 X gaming mice are available in black or white. The G502 X will be priced at $79.99, the G502 X Lightspeed will be priced at $139.99, and the G502 X Plus will have a suggested retail price of $159.99.
