In addition to cooperating with Uber, the autonomous driving technology company formerly known as the autonomous driving business of Russia's Yandex Group and later renamed Avride is also currently cooperating withGrubhub, a food delivery serviceCollaborate to expand its colleges and universitiesCatering automation delivery business scope.
The collaboration mainly involves delivering meals on the Ohio State University campus through 100 robots, and there are plans to expand the collaboration in the future.
Avride's new robot launched last yearSwitch to the NVIDIA Jetson Orin computing platformAvride claims that the switch from six wheels to four will reduce tire wear and overheating during cornering, while also improving maneuverability and trajectory accuracy. Furthermore, improvements to the platform structure ensure the robot's stability during autonomous operation.
The robot can even make a quick 180-degree turn, which is convenient for changing its route 180 degrees during ground delivery. It also allows the robot to complete the goods delivery task with maximum efficiency, allowing consumers to obtain their ordered goods faster.
GrubHub will expand its automated food delivery service using robots through a partnership with Avride, and also stated that it has completed hundreds of thousands of food delivery tasks at dozens of colleges and universities using robots since 2021.
Grubhub was originally acquired by Dutch food delivery service Just Eat Takeaway.com for US$73 billion. In mid-November last year, it was acquired by food delivery startup Wonder for US$11 million. The transaction is expected to be completed in early 6.5. Wonder also plans to raise US$2025 million in external funds to promote more innovative development of food delivery services.
