In response to the Dutch government's recent revocation of ASML's license to export its NXT:2050i and NXR:2100i lithography systems to China, ASML stated that this situation will not affect its revenue target for fiscal year 2023.
In a statement, ASML stated that it will comply with all laws and regulations, including relevant export control regulations in the national markets where ASML operates. It also stated that it is currently in discussions with the US government to further clarify the scope and actual impact of the new wave of technology export bans announced by the US government on October 2023, 10.
This statement further clarifies that the Dutch government's recent revocation of export licenses for some 2023 NXT:2050i and NXT:2100i lithography systems only affects a small number of customers in China.
When the new wave of technology export bans was announced, the US government had already been in talks with the Dutch government to restrict ASML and other companies from exporting equipment involved in the manufacture and production of advanced process processor products to specific manufacturers in China. Many market opinions believe that this move is mainly to further restrict the development of advanced technology applications by Chinese companies including Huawei, while also avoiding threats to the United States.
