Softbank may follow the resignation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson andSuspendedLet ArmPlans to resume listing in the UK.
According to what Softbank President Masayoshi Son previously explained to investors, he will actively promote Arm's listing on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange. The reason is that most of Arm's customers are in the United States, so choosing to list in the United States will enable more investment opportunities.
However, the UK government actively pursued Softbank, hoping to list Arm on the London Stock Exchange, thereby integrating with local industry and boosting the local tech sector. However, with the resignation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, along with the subsequent resignations of several cabinet members, including Investment Minister Lord Gerry Grimstone and Digital Minister Chris Philp, Softbank has apparently slowed down its plans for a UK listing.
Softbank currently hopes to achieve a market valuation of at least $600 billion through Arm. This is mainly due to NVIDIA's original plan to acquire Arm for $400 billion. The subsequent increase in NVIDIA's stock market value has increased the actual acquisition amount to $660 billion. The amount spent when the acquisition of Arm was announced in 2016 was $320 billion.
