Following its tour of major Asian tech hubs such as Shanghai, Seoul, Shenzhen, and Tokyo, the grand finale of Arm's new AI leadership summit, "Arm Unlocked," was held today (November 13th) at the Taipei Marriott Hotel. With the theme of "Exploring the Future of AI Computing," the event attracted over 500 participants from the technology industry, demonstrating Taiwan's crucial role in the global AI supply chain.
In his opening remarks, Arm Taiwan President Huang Hsiao-kang emphasized that Taiwan is at the heart of global AI development, from semiconductor design to device manufacturing. He pointed out that 2025 will be a landmark year for Arm, from edge computing to mobile devices, and Arm is accelerating its intelligent transformation through a variety of AI-centric innovative technologies.
Edge AI Explosion: Becoming the Dominant Technology in the Next Three Years
This forum was divided into three core areas: "Consumer Electronics," "Edge Artificial Intelligence," and "Infrastructure." Paul Williamson, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the IoT Business Unit at Arm, personally delivered the first lecture on "Edge Artificial Intelligence."
Williamson points out that we are experiencing a computing revolution led by AI. He boldly predicts that in the next three years, IoT applications will accelerate, from smart manufacturing and smart cars to smart healthcare, with edge AI becoming the dominant technology and demand experiencing explosive growth. This means that computing power will be closer to the source of data generation, rather than relying solely on the cloud.
Consumer Electronics & Infrastructure: Arm Lumex CSS and Neoverse CSS Debut
In the "Consumer Electronics" agenda, Arm explored its end-product roadmap in depth and highlighted its latest releases.Arm Lumex CSS Computing PlatformAndSME2 (Scalable Matrix Extension 2) instruction setArm further demonstrated how it can accelerate the evolution of smart mobile devices by supporting on-device AI, immersive image processing, and multimodal operating systems through software integration and ecosystem collaboration.
In the "infrastructure" field, with the innovation of data center computing, Arm focuses onNeoverse CSSArm's early analog, modular firmware, chiplet system architecture (CSA), and UCIe industry standards. Through the "Arm Total Design" ecosystem, Arm will accelerate the development process of custom SoCs, providing faster and more flexible solutions for AI infrastructure.
Real-world demonstration: Generative AI photography, AI yoga instructor
In addition to the technical forum, the on-site AI application demonstration area also showcased the practical applications of Arm technology:
• Generative AI Photography Experience:Using a Radxa Orion O6 motherboard equipped with an Armv9 CPU, object detection is performed, and images are generated by combining the Google Gemma2-2B large language model. These images can even be printed as personalized souvenirs on-site.
• AI Yoga Instructor:By combining BlazePose with a large language model, it enables real-time gesture analysis and voice feedback.
Arm Unlocked Taipei 2025 not only showcased Arm's complete cloud-to-edge strategy, but also highlighted the indispensable role of Taiwan partners in driving this wave of AI innovation.
