Apple announced that it will launch AppleCare+ service in France, Italy and Spain, covering theft, loss and damage warranty items.
In addition to the countries and regions announced this time, Apple has previously provided the same service in the United States, Australia, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom, allowing consumers to spend extra money to ensure that if their iPhone is accidentally stolen, lost, or damaged, they can still be covered by the AppleCare+ service, and can purchase the same model of iPhone at a low cost, or repair the damaged part.
The AppleCare+ service is underwritten by American International Casualty Insurance (AIG), and consumers must first mark the stolen or lost iPhone as lost through the "Find My" app. At the same time, the lost iPhone cannot be removed from the "Find My" program before the insurance policy is officially approved.
After the warranty expires, consumers can purchase a new iPhone of the same model and specifications as the stolen or lost iPhone for $149. The purchase must be completed within 60 days of the warranty expiration. Apple's warranty policy limits the purchase to a maximum of two times within every 12 months.
The new version of AppleCare+ service was first launched in the US market in 2018, and subsequently entered more national markets. It was initially priced at US$14.99 per month, and later adjusted to different models. For example, the 2022 iPhone SE model was priced at US$7.49 per month, and the iPhone 13 Pro was priced at US$13.49 per month.
