By paying an additional $29, AirPods and Beats series headphones can receive an additional two years of expert technical support, additional hardware warranty services, and up to two accidental damage warranties at a cost of $29 each.
According to Apple's explanation, this extended warranty will cover AirPods, Beats series headphones, internal batteries and the included USB charging cable, but the AirPods' portable charging case does not seem to be covered by the extended warranty.
In addition, the AppleCare+ extended warranty plan for headphone products can only be purchased when purchasing headphones. Otherwise, it can only be purchased through an Apple Store or by phone within 60 days of purchasing the headphone products. It is currently not available for purchase separately through the official website.
However, at this stage, Apple only offers the AppleCare+ extended warranty plan for headphone products in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, China, Hong Kong and other regions. The suggested retail prices are US$29, CAD$39, GBP 29, JPY 3400, RMB 299, and HKD 229 respectively. This service is not yet available in Taiwan.
